The design for these chore charts is very simple – only one day showing at a time, with four "chores" per day! They are designed this way because their main purpose is to teach young kids to reference this chart and complete these tasks that are there to help them acquire to be responsible and also teach them independence! Every bit you tin can see, most of the tasks are really only everyday practical skills that kids need to learn! Each mean solar day is on a separate page with a split up checklist.

PRESCHOOL Chore Chart

Below is a rundown of the tasks I put on the Preschool Job Charts 9 years ago when I created them for my oldest (Nathan) and why I incorporated them

  • Brush Teeth: We help Nathan brush his teeth still morn and night. But, he always wants to do it himself. And so, I have a i-minute timer in his bathroom and he sets it and then brushes his teeth himself for the entire minute. I remind him to brush all over and good throughout the infinitesimal. So we step in and castor an additional minute or then! Because he'southward so into, we also permit him brush his teeth 100% independently afterwards lunch and that'due south usually when he marks off his chore! We take seen huge improvement already and in no time, he'll no longer need our assistance!
  • Read 15 minutes:  For our abode, this ways lonely! Beingness that he isn't reading yet, it is mainly books that we have read and he knows the stories already or books that are mainly pictures. He loves his dinosaur book correct now and he goes through and tries to name all the dinosaurs, etc. When our middle child began using these chore carts, I had his older brother read to him during this time and somewhen transition him into using this reading independently.
  • Fold Towels: When it comes to laundry, this is the expanse young kids can help. Nathan is a pro washcloth/dishcloth folder, just he nevertheless struggles a bit with hand towels and bath towels. And so, we are working on that currently!
  • Silverware: Unload the silverware. Nosotros generally run the dishwasher at dark, so this task is one I have him exercise in the morning, earlier or after breakfast. Information technology is a simple enough job for him at present, but one that he tin complete start to terminate without help from me. I will probably keep this on his job nautical chart for another 3 months and so introduce something new that he will take to learn.
  • Make Bed: This is an area that I have very little expectations. I just desire him to start working on pulling up his sheets and bedspread so arranging the pillows and his few blimp animals — just the best he tin can! From what I hear from my older sisters, this volition be an area we will ALWAYS be working on! ha!
  • Mom's Choice: This is just that… MY CHOICE! Clean up the backyard, entertain your little brother for a ½ 60 minutes, clean upward 15 toys…. actually whatever I desire!!

I personally laminate all mine and so put magnet strips on the dorsum. I put all of them on the side of the fridge and put the appropriate day's Job Chart on the forepart of the fridge. Then my kids used dry out erase markers or dry erase crayons to marker off the job one time it is completed! That way he is only looking at the tasks that I expect him to complete that twenty-four hour period and no others!
